I use windows 2000 and need to kill malware such as, CLKOptimizer, IEautosearch,VX@, Narrator, etc. If I could just start in safe mode I would be better off to defend myself. The pc starts to boot to safe mode and after the Windows spalsh comes up it initiates a non requested reboot taking me back to the bars along the bottom (where I hve to hit F8 to get into Safe Mode).

Thanks for any help.

This link may help you out.

http://service1.syma...001052409420406

It describes how to get into Safe Mode for all versions of Windows.

It might be a good idea to post a HijackThis log so someone here can have a look at it.

The good news is that I am ok now.......because I blew up the old computer and started a new one. Thanks for the instructions for SafeMode. The issue was that I know how to...it just wouldn't let me. So much can be done to defeat htose little buggers....IF you can go to safe mode. Thanks! I appreciate the info and help. You guys (and gals) are great!
