winxp HOME SP2. dell inspiron 600m with centrino mobile technology.

my wireless suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago. i've checked three different networks: my dorm (a hallmate has a router), mccabe, and my wireless network back home. none work when they should clearly be working (other laptops around me are able to connect), so it's definitely something to do with my compouter.

what happens is that everything SEEMS to be working, and i try to find a wireless network, but my computer cannot detect it at all.

"No wireless networks found in range. Make sure the wireless switch on your computer is on. To see an updated list, click 'Refresh network list.'"

any idea what could be the cause of this problem?

I had this problem too. To fix it, I went to the advanced tab on my wireless connection properties, clicked on settings in the firewall section and turned my firewall back on. I recently installed something that I think changed this firewall setting. Hope this helps you.
