Can access Device Manager ?

Any suggestions? When I go to System in Control Panel and try to access device manager, it opens up but it's blank......? ? ? No devices are being displayed.

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter to replace the system files, you need the XP CD and get a blue progress bar, reboot when the bar goes

This can be caused by several things, the most common is the Plug and Play Service being disabled...to fix that:

Click Start, then Run, type services.msc, and then click "OK".
Double-click Plug and Play. (If you receive a Configuration Manager message, click "OK".)

In the "Startup Type" list, click "Automatic", and then click "OK".

Close Services and restart the computer.

Try the following:
Start -> Run.
Type: regsvr32 dmocx.dll
Press <enter>.
