I recently reformatted windows and my USB ports worked and suddenly after I reformatted the USB ports no longer work. I am trying to get the VIA 2.0 USB ports to work and nothing seems to work. I assume the usb driver for some reason isnt installing. Any help on fixing my USB ports? I am running Windows XP SP2

Got to the run in the start menu and get a command window open(type cmd into the run box) the use the sfc /scannow command with the windows disk in your cd drive. It will check for missinng drivers and fix them.

You might want to go to www.viaarena.com and install the chipset drivers for your machine and operating system. They will generally include all the ViA hardware on your board. You may also be able to find them at your motherboard or machine maker's site.

yeah the best place to go is manufacturers sites, we are good but we are busy and may need to look up manuals and old threads etc to check things that someone with the board would tell you how to fix in a single post.
