RUNNING WINDOWS 98 AND CANNOT OPEN ANY WORD FILES ETC AS THIS MESSAGE KEEPS OCCURRING.AM DESPERATE FOR HELP AS RATHER COMPUTER ILLITERATE AND URGENTLY REQUIRE REMEDY!!!CAN ANYONE OUT THERE SAVE ME?i NO LONGER HAVE ANY OF THE ORIGINAL DISKS THAT CAME WITH THIS COMPUTER.CHEERS JAKE!

sounds like you had microsoft office on your system, then removed it. You can usually open most simpler word documents using windows built in wordpad program. You can also ownload a word reader from microsoft for free
