Is the Shiled 2005 antivirus/firewall good?

I'm not sure what Antivirus to go w/ once nortons free thing is up. I have The Shield 2005 antivirus/firewall but I don't know if it's worth installing it. It doesn't seem like it really does anything on my parents computer but I could be wrong. I am basically wondering if I should go with something else or The Shield?
