I have a co-worker who is presently experiencing some trouble with her new computer. She can play CD's, but she cannot rip the music off the Cd to save it to her hard drive. It just says that Windows experienced an unexpected error and stops ripping. Anyone got any suggestions on what could be wrong?

It may be a copy-protected CD to prevent her from doing just this sort of thing.

The CD that she is trying to rip from is a burned CD itself, so I know that it is not write protected.

Try a different software, if the software is allready in mp3 you dont have to rip it again just explore the disk and copy files across.

Yeah, I ran into that same problem with my Nero on my home computer. The thing is though that I have the administrator user logged in and am trying to use it and it still will not allow me to use it. Not sure about that. Will check on the MP3 thing though, did not think about it. Thanks

If she is ripping cda files off the cd, use AudioGrabber... be sure to install the Lame plugin to encode mp3s.
