Hi,
As far as I know, Macs do not have a safe mode. What OS are you running? Also, what do you mean by you cannot open? What can't you open. Any info related to the system will be very helpful in solving your problem. Please post back with system specs and the exact problem. Please be as specific as possible. Thanks. Have a great day!

Thank you so much for replying. My son came home and was able to take care of the problem. (which I don't really understand). I'm new to mac's and may have used the wrong terminology. thanks again.
