I got a message from a friend saying "Hey check out my new pic." With a link to a myspace address. However when I clicked then link nothing happened and the same message was immediately sent to everyone on my buddy list. Now I get popups even when I am not using Internet Explorer and my computer is running very slowly. I have run 7-8 different types of scans many times, and in Safe Mode. I have manually deleted the files they find as well as used the programs to delete them. I have cleaned out my registry many times and have run AntiVirus scans many times. I have run Trend, ewido, CCleaner, Webroot Spy Sweeper, Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAware, Symantec AntiVirus and some others. I am running Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron 6000. I have Hijack this if a log is needed and am willing to do anything to get rid of this virus/spyware. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks in advance...

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
