Hey guys, i just got windows free edition, everythings working fine except i cant get my flash drive working, its your bog standard belkin usb 2.0 drivs, anyone know whats wrong?

where did you get it from?? It doesn't say that it's Win 98, or anything like that?

There is no such thing as Windows Free Edition.

Make sure that it's a valid copy of Windows XP. We cannot help people on issues about illegal versions of Windows.

It says windows free edition on the boot screen

Go to your start button and select run

then type in winver. note what the box says that opens and post it back here...doc

I assume it is Windows XP 64 that Microsoft giving out for people to try. You can get this even online to. But since it is tryout version I personally not expecting to much from it. It is for future CPU and I think the only CPU available that compatable to it is one of AMD 64 chip. Not knowing any of the Intel made CPU good for it. So for me the fastest solution is sent your concern to Microsoft but keep in mind that what is the point if it not even made for your machine.

I've had similar problems but with my webcam. Even the camera installation disk doesn't help.
