I am going to buy my girlfriend some RAM for her computer, and it currently has 2 sticks of 128 mb pc100 RAM, i have looked and looked but cannot find the model number of the motherboard (its an emachine), and pc100 ram is pretty expensive. would it be ok to load some pc133 into it if i took the other stuff out?

Download and install Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on right for motherboard details

If the motherboard will handle PC 133 and has sufficient slots then you should be able to leave the PC 100 in, though this will cap the PC 133 to PC 100, you are likely to end up with more memory capacity if you leave the PC 100 in

The PC 133 will go in slot 1 and the PC 100 should be moved to the next available slot
