I have just installed a Lite-On SOHC 5236V combo drive and although I can write to and read CD-R media I can read all DVD media (-R +R etc), I cannot write to DVD-R media. I have just upgraded from an earlier, slower Lite-on combo model SOHW 1673S which works perfectly with all DVD media. I have the latest BIOS and firmware and software updates installed. If I go back to using this older model, all works fine.

Can anyone HELP ???

Hello Mart123, I have looked up your (LiteOn SOHC-5236V - CD-RW / DVD-ROM combo drive - IDE) and it seems that it is only a CD-Writer, this means that you cannot write to DVD, you can only read from DVD and normal CD.

Sorry, but its impossible to write any media to a DVD.
