DEAR SIRS ,OR SHOULD I SAY GEEKS .THAT DOESNT SOUND NICE .ANYWAY I AM VERY COMPUTOR ILLITERATE AND BOUGHT A USED DELL FROM A FREIND OF A FREIND THAT SUPPABLY GOT IN TROUBLE CHATTING OR SOMTHING, ANY WAY I GOT LOTS OF EXTRA SOFTWARE WITH MY COMPUTOR AT THE TIME I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD DEAL. LATER FIGURED OUT THAT THEY WERE FOR WINDOWS 95 98 .ANY WAY MY PC IS RUNNING XP PRO WHICH I CAN NOT DO ANY UPDATES ,MICROSOFT SAYS THAT IT IS A PIRTED SOMETHING # AND I DIDNT GET THEXP PRO SOFTWARE . SO I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD GET DELL TO SEND ME THE XP HOME SOFTWARE THAT CAME ON THE COMPUTOR ,AND GO BACK. IF NOT MAYBE YOU COULD GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS. I WANT TO GET THIS RESOLVED SOME WAY .BY THE WAY I HAVE LEARNED QUITE A BIT FROM THIS EXPERIANCE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS , AND LETS JUST SAY IAM THE GEEK .HA !HA!

If Dell originally supplied a legal copy of XP Home, you will probably find it on a computer owned by the person who sold you the one you have.

Dell will likely charge you to supply a disc, you could look for an OEM version of XP Home or XP Pro
