CD-ROM & CD-RW WON'T OPERATE

<_< MY PC HAS JUST LATELY DEVELOPED AN ERROR ON BOTH MY CD ROM DRIVE'S. I CAN PLAY AUDIO DISCS, MY MEDIA PLAYER AUTOMATICALY DETECTS THEM! BUT IF I TRY A DATA CD IN EITHER OF MY DRIVES I GET A MESSAGE, PLEASE INSERT A DISC IN DRIVE E & PLEASE INSERT A DISC IN DRIVE F, ALTHOUGH THERE ARE DISCS IN THE DRIVES! I HAVEN'T INSTALLED ANY SOFTWARE OR MADE ANY SYSTEM CHANGES. CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME? :D

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

Let's start with a couple of free programs:
CWShredder is the first to run, it's down the page a little. Here's why: If a CoolWebSearch variant is indeed running on your system, it may actually prevent you from running spyware scans. It is smart enough to detect efforts to detect it, and stop them. Download CWShredder to your desktop or other location. Close all browser windows, double click the CWShredder icon to run, then click the Fix -> button.

Then run Ad-Aware. Using Ad-aware: Open Ad-Aware and use the Check for updates now link. Download and accept the latest reference file. When finished click the Start button. When done scanning, the Abort button will change to Next. Click the Next button. Right-click in the Scanning Results window and click "Select all objects". Then click the "Next" button and confirm that you want to delete the selected entries.

When finished, Reboot your computer. Finally, reply to this post with a new HiJackThis log so we can look for any nasties that may have been missed. <_<

Hi right after a search I donloaded all the programs & did what said, the adware program found 53 items which as you said have been deleted to a quarantine file! I have done another hijack log the results are below, I have rechecked my drives but still not operating!!
