Hello,

I'm having trouble deleting an auto formatted line. To separate blocks of text I sometimes hit the dashes key a few times and then hit enter. This puts a solid line horizontally across the page. Sometimes I would like to delete the line later, but can't.

I'm not sure what to call this line, so I haven't been able to successfully look up the problem using help.

I'm using Word 2003 with XP.

Thank you.

I figured it out. It appears that the line that is automatically created is considered a border. I am able to highlight the line(s) above/below the border, Click Format, Click Borders and Shading, Select 'None', Click OK.
