cannot connect to local server error

hi,i have just networked my pc and laptop.when im using the internet the pages dont always load and i get an error cannot connect to local server.any ideas to stop this happening

Are you sure your network is working? Can your PC and Laptop see each other?
Please do the following, on the laptop and the PC:
Goto Start, Run, type: CMD and press enter.
Now type: IPCONFIG /ALL and press enter.
Right click on the window, and select 'Select All'.
Press Ctrl + C, and then paste the contents onto this forum.

Also, goto Start, Run, type: EVENTVWR and press enter. Now look at the System and Application logs, and see if there are any errors (red circles with X's) or warnings on them. Please post any Errors / Warnings.
