Hello everyone!

I've recently starting having several problems with my Viao PC. I'm not sure whats caused them, but I would imagine they're not too hard to fix. When I start up my PC, it hangs on the desktop and doesn't show any icons, just the mouse cursor, I have to press CTRL ALT DEL to bring up my desktop. It usually tells me that Windows Logon UI has crashed several times. I also have that svchost.dll/exe problem too I think. And my computer almost never reboots or shuts down when I tell it too. First off, here's a copy of my Hijack This Log:

Welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz:

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure. Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SdScansAE] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\stup_tmp.#32,Ini

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files/folders (if found):

C:\WINDOWS\stup_tmp.#32,Ini

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. ;)

Ok, I ran hijack this and took out those parts and rebooted in safe mode. The file wasn't there to delete, so I figure that was a good thing. However, my computer still refuses to reboot or power down from the Start>Turn off Computer menu. I have to manually press the button on the front to shut it off. And when I restart my computer, it still wont go straight to the desktop. It runs for a minute just showing my wallpaper and I have to press CTRL ALT DEL to bring up the task manager. It then starts telling me that "Windows Logon UI" has crashed and that it was this failure:

EventType : InPageError P1 : c000009c P2 : 00000003

It never did this before and I'm not sure what caused it. Thats pretty much the main thing I want to see about getting fixed. Here's my new hijack this log file:

Not virus related, but I recall that Acrobat reader 5.x one version had a bug in it. You might want to update that just to eliminate that possibility - I think current version is 6.02.
