Problems streaming media over WLAN

I am having problems streaming media over a WLAN. I had this same problem when I was running a wired network.

When streaming media over the network, after a few second of a music track it cuts out and moves to the next track in the playlist.

I am also having problems with a Buffalo Link theatre i recently purchased.

I have set this up as per the instructions and have found the WLAN. However my computer doesnt show up. Even by carrying out a manual connection I cannot get the link station to see my computer. I have installed the relevant software etc,

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
