I'm jamie, a first time user... Nor... Antivirus detected Trojan.Vundo in C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER\LOCALS~1\TEMP\SCVS.DAT yesterday and I have spent many hours following the steps to remove it. The virus is in both scvs.dat and scvs.exe however NOR AV (antivirus) has them both in quarantine.

I checked the temp file myself and only the scvs.dat is still in the temp file. Nor... Antivirus could fix it so I used the symant.. trojan.vundo removal tool ver. 1.2.4 and it said Trojan.Vundo was NOT found.

I then used HiJackTh.. and only fixed what i could identify from another users post one this site to avoid destroying this computer.

All said and done... NOR AV still says it is here in the same location:

could someone please HELP?

Here is my log from HiJackTh..:

Welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz:

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ClockSync] "C:\Program Files\ClockSync\Sync.exe" /q

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files/folders (if found):

C:\Program Files\ClockSync <- this folder

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. ;)

Thanks for the help,
I did what you asked... However when I resarted in SAFE MODE c:\ProgramFiles\ClockSync\Sync.exe was not in the file. I also ran the symantic tool again and it still says Trojan.Vundo is not there. I then did the scan with Norton AV and it still says my system is still infected in scvs.dat.

Here is my log:

I then did the scan with Norton AV and it still says my system is still infected in scvs.dat.

Your log shows no sign of infection. Where does Norton report this file to be?

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin

Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Reboot and let us know if the problem persists.
