Background problem

Ok i recently got this thing with spyware infection as set to my back ground, and many other stuff, I basically removed a`ll the programs by going into Windows Safe Mode and deleted Spy sherrif, and many other apps that came with this spyware, theres not much wrong with my computer now i have ewido and have fixed my background BUT here comes the problem, I logged outta safe mode after running ewido and went onto my windows xp normally and my back is just plain white, spyware infection aint there but my background is just plain white and i cannot change it under properties just like before, and many of my icons still have a border around them of what i pick my backgrounjd color to be, anyone help? :tazz:
