Hello - and happy holidays! I'm trying to remove MCAFEE.COM and Panda software files from my computer so I can download other antivirus software. Uninstall doesn't work :) I deleted most of the files, but the rest say "access denied". I have been trying for HOURS! I followed all the steps at McAfee.com... tried everything available online! DELL told me to do a system restore! That made it worse! Please help! Thanks a lot! Karen :tazz:

Hello,
More than likely you're getting "access denied", because some of the files you are trying to delete are in use. Mcafee (EVIL! :tazz: ) definitely has start up entries still running. You need to stop these first before you can delete the files you want to delete. Same goes for Panda.

In my signature is a link to Hijackthis. Please download/install it, then "attach" a start log and a scan log to your next post. Use the File Attachement feature below the posting window. From the Hijackthis logs, we can find out what processes to kill to allow you to completely uninstall the apps.

Hello Makai - thanks for your quick response. :tazz: Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner but I'm a graphic designer and don't want to even look at my pc when I get home! The hijackthis log is attached and I updated my profile with system info (I'm not computer savvy, so I hope I gave enough info.) There are two logfiles - they are probably the same, but I wasn't sure. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks again! Karen
