I had a PC shop reinstall Win 98 and now I cannot view video trailers from sites like

http://movies.yahoo.com/trailers/
or
http://www.cbsnews.c...ain563855.shtml

Both these sites worked prior to the reinstall. Yes, I had to reinstall Windows Media Player 9.0 but that did not work.

I installed Quicktime and that works fine.

Meidia Player does work but I often get an error message that it needs to shutdown. Which it does but then when I invoke the movie clip again it starts up fine...then the error happens. It doesn't happen all the time.

Is there some setup that I missed? Something in Control Panel I should access and reset? This is very frustrating as I don't know how to resolve this and I cannot enjoy the full capability of my PC like I did prior to the Win98 reinstall. :tazz:

I neglected to add I upgraded to a CTX 762 17" Flat Screen Monitor. Could that have an affect?

A lot of programs no longer support win98. That might be part of the problem.

I deleted Windows Media 9 and load version 7. That seemed to do the trick. But all these sites were working fine last week. It's not a big thing and I seem to have a work around.

Thanks for responding. :tazz:
