I have cable internet access through a wireless hub. My desktop is connected to the hub via a wire and a laptop connects wirelessly. Programs which connect to the internet for auto updates (Norton Anti virus) or for normal functionality (iTunes) work fine through the laptop but not through the desktop. The message I get from the desktop is something like "website not available, computer not connected to the internet" even though I am on the internet with IE at the same time. I am not running any firewall software, and cannot find out if XP or the MS networking software which came with the router has a working firewall which is not allowing these programs access. Any suggestions or directions to links which might help solve this would help.
