:) seems like every one has the answers, but never the complete resolution. I have a log to download as requested by Greyknight but I'm not sure how to do that. I have gone through several solutions but i not quite there secure32 thought it could fool my default page but I found where it lived or better said hidding in the default values of some of the registry keys. so with out saying much more about secure32 I killed that thing and within my windows folder detroyed the phony web page that was associated with sec 32. Now remains afew other things like popups that self initiate even when i shut down my modem. they appear as opened windows that failed to load because the broken (turned off modem)connection to the internet, so I am able to tell that its internally promted to initiate. Now where they are hiding is what i need help with :tazz:

Welcome to Geeks to Go. Please post a HijackThis log in our Malware Removal forum, and one of our staff members will be glad to help you clean your machine of this nasty infection.

Download HijackThis

Save HijackThis in its own folder (i.e. C:\HJT). DO NOT run it from within a zip manager (Winzip), as no backups will be saved.

To start the scan, Click the Scan button on the left. The Scan Button has a new Caption. Save Log. Click the Save Log button to create a file named Hijackthis.log. A dialog box will pop up. Use it to select the location where you will save the log. Close the program.

Return to the Forum and create a new topic in the Malware Removal Forum. Open the Log in Notepad. Highlight the entire contents. Copy and paste the contents of the HijackThis log into your post, and wait for a Staff member to reply to your topic to help you. :tazz:
