Well, I had thrown in the towel, and was ready to reformat the computer, start all over again. I had the computer completely unplugged, when I forgot to backup something. Lo and behold, when I turned on the computer, everything worked fine. No issues. It's running better than before. My Internet speed is 2.2 mbs. WHy? Who knows. As long as it keeps going like it is, I'm happy.
Until then, I'm not touching a thing!!!!!
Thanks for all the help.
