hi,

i am trying to install a new 184 pin 512mb stick of pc-2700 ram.

i have checked and re-checked that i have the proper ram for my motherboard, and i do. i even took it back to the store where i bought it and they checked it there and said it is ok.

why is my computer not recognizing my new ram?

and just to add, i took out the original stick of ram (a 512 pc-2700 stick as well) and put in the new ram.

computer boots and runs fine. windows says i have 512 MB of ram. if i put the old stick back in and boot, i have 512 MB of ram.

if i put BOTH sticks in, I HAVE 512MB OF RAM.

is this a BIOS problem?
