does anyone know how to power down a server so that I can replace a failed power supply? I am new to this.

Hello,

You should be able to use the shutdown command

SHUTDOWN /S or SHUTDOWN/(computername)

To turn it off, or to reboot use SHUTDOWN /R

whoa.

this post scares me and poses lots of questions

why are you doing anything if you cannot power down a server
why is the server running if the powersupply has failed

I have a bad feeling about this one
