Sry i didnt know what forum to put this in but here it is:

Well...
I need to reformat. So i have a bunch of floppy disks (yeah i know they suck) but they hold memory so w/e.
Im saving some junk and whatever.
But this happened to one of my friends, he cant find his sound driver, anyone know how i can get it back? or find it or whatever i need to do?

Ive never reformatted before so yeah. I need to know what things i MUST keep.

Someone please tell me what i must keep.
Thanks

Hello Anthraqz,

As far as telling you what you must keep, I'd recommend you keep drivers you will need to get back online. This is important especially if you do not have another computer at home that can download drivers you'll need off the net. Also keep copies of any documents/files you do not want to lose.

If you have dial-up, make sure have a copy of your modem driver. If you connect via broadband or cable, etc, you'll need any network/modem drivers that you use to connect.

If you discover you need other drivers, you can download them at driverguide.com, as long as you can get online. :tazz:

Download and install Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on right for details of what is installed, note the make and model numbers, you can print the report

Once you have these, check through the software CD's you have, then look on the internet for drivers for any programmes which you do not have the CD's for, before you format, post back with details of any drivers you are unable to locate

Apart from the software for the network adapter, you can download the rest if you do not have the CD's for them, though the AC97 will be on the motherboard CD if you have that. Possibly you will be able to download the network adapter drivers somewhere

Can you open everest, click + next to software then click installed programmes, check through the list to see you also have either the software CD's for them, or they are downloadable, eg Zone Alarm Firewall, AVG anti virus etc, post any you are unsure of

IKEA Home Planner Office

LogonStudio

Network Play System (Patching)
