Hello everyone. This is my first time posting a HijackThis log, so bear with me. I have done all of the suggestions on the intro page (Ad Aware, Windows Update, etc.) and yet I am having trouble getting right of the "lop" bug, so I'm told it is called. My homepage doesn't change anymore, but I have found my computer getting slower, pop-ups keep coming and toolbars keep attaching to IE that I never wanted.

It began when a family member downloaded Messenger Plus a little over a month ago (who's not computer literate :tazz:) , and although I've removed it, this lop bug remains. My log is posted below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.
Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Media glue sign axis] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\defyloadmediaglue\Helpcomp.exe

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files/folders (if found):

C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\S-1-5-18 <- this folder
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\defyloadmediaglue <- this folder

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. ;)

I just tried what you recommended and found the two folders and deleted them. Well, all of the crappy links, annoying pop-ups and frustrating toolbars are gone, and my computer is running fine. Here's my new HijackThis log:
