Hey there. Im having a slight problem. As a school project we made a dvd movie, (complete with menue, etc). It works fine in a DVD player, but when I put it into my DVD ROM drive, nothing happens. The drive plays any other DVDs fine. I have watched plenty of other movies.

The drive is the D: HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR8163B

The DVD was burned with Final Cut Pro and iDVD. The movie is homemade.

What could be the problem? Something with region codes? The media?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. There is no guarantee that all dvd media will work in all drives, particularly one that you burned yourself. I have a home made video (very well done) made by a family member that was sent to me. It will not play on some of my computers, but will on others. It won't play in my Toshiba dvd player hooked up to my tv, but it will play on a samsung vhs/dvd combo in my daughters room. Go figure. You could spend hours trying to figure this out, and it still won't work. Or you could just accept it as is and move on. www.afterdawn.com is a good place to go for video help.
