Its a dell dimension 2300 2350 series p4 2.2 ghz i have 512 mb 184 pin ddr (i dont want to have to change my mem) i dont know much about PCs but i did put my pc in a new case when my old dell case didnt fit 2 hard drives.

not an easy question to answer. however intel is just now starting to support ddr2 so boards that will support your memory should be easy to find. the big issue is finding a board that will work with your current processor. is the issue. For example my system uses a p4 2.66ghz processor. nice right... except that it is a socket 478. intel switched sockets last year and removed the pins from their processors to the system boards.
