Print these instructions out and make sure everything is entered exactly.

First Download this file to your desktop:

You will need 6 floppy disks.

Double-click winxpsp1_en_hom_bf.exe

Insert a floppy into your drive.

In the black window that's open, type a

It will tell you when you need to insert a new disk.
NOTE: Keep track of the order of the disks because you have to start with disk #1, then #2, then #3 and so forth.

Slip in Floppy disk #1 and reboot.
Upon boot up, you may receive 'Press any key to boot from disk' if you do, then press any key (it may just automatically boot from disk..)
You will be prompted for each disk, make sure to put them in, in order.
After the last disk has loaded, setup will stop at an options screen.
Choose R.
You may be prompted for the Administrator password. just press enter.
You may be offered which installation ie:
1. C:\Windows
If you are, Press 1 and enter.
You will arrive at a C:\Windows prompt.
Type (make sure to enter it exactly):

chkdsk c: /r

hit enter.

It should find the location of the file it needs, but if it asks for the location of autochk.exe it is located in:
C:\Windows\system32\autochk.exe

Just let it do it's thing.

When it's done, type:

fixboot c:

hit enter.

type:
Y

hit enter.

Take out the floppy disk

type:
exit

hit enter.

The machine will restart. Let me know how that goes..
