Hi everyone, I've got a pc running WXP SP2. I keep getting these error messages upon startup.

First one is: svchost.exe-Application error. The instruction at 0x00ac96bc referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written.

Second one is: svchost.exe error. The instruction at 0x0099966c referenced memory at 0x0000000. The mem could not be written.

Anyone know what these mean?

I 've got Norton running along with Webroot and Spybot. Everything as far as I know is up to date.

One other thing is that when I open up "My Computer" I get a new window that is blank with the icon of the flashlight. It takes over 30 seconds before I can see my disk drives. Do you think this is a OS problem or malware/adware etc.....

Please HELP.....thanks
