Hey everyone!
I had some trouble with my computer after a virus. The virus placed like twenty icons on my desktop including "Phetermine, Viagra, Something regarding insurance, lots of sex icons, [bleep], etc.. Winhound and SpySherrif also opened and ran. We tried to remove the viruses, without usign this website because I was unaware of Geekstogo.
We then formatted the HD, and tried to reinstall WinXp. Everytime Windows begins to install it locks up and won't continue.

Help!! Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. So, you have already formatted the hard drive? Did that process complete without any errors? Do you have a bootable windows install cd and are you able to boot to it? Was the hard drive working ok prior to this adventure in malware/reformatting? Do you see any error message when the install "locks up?" When you reply, please post your full system specs. This will better enable folks to try to help you
