The message is Error loading C:\PROGRA~\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~1.DLL

When I try to access the internet the "server cannot be found". I have tried taking my computer back to a previous date but that did not work. I had just gotten an announcement of a virus and was asked if I wanted to delete, what I thought, was the infected file. When I did delete it, I could not get on the internet. Would appreciate some help.

Thanks.

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log as a new topic in the Hijack This forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the recommendations in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

How can I run any diagnostic programs when I can't even get online? I have since discovered that before this happened the was a virus: Trojan horse Dialer.17.E. The path was C:\System Volume Inform, filename A0004930.dll. That was in the antivirus vault.

You can use another system to download HijackThis to a floppy drive.
