modem installation problem

Have brand new pc running XP

When installing broadband modem (Westel model 36R305) supplied by BT for use with their broadand service, at end of installation received message

"An error occurred while trying to run gspndll.dll, post Install final"

This message appears whenever computer rebooted or switch user.

Cannot uninstall modem via either the specific product uninstallationprogram or the control pannel remove programs option , receive message

Error number 0x80040703
Description:Failed to find dll function GSPNDLL.dllLogTrace
Set up will now terminate

The modem does seem to actually work, am using now.

However not happy that am unable to uninstall modem, as about to purchase wireless router/modem to network all the home computers and expect will need to uninstall modem then.

Error message is also worrying.

Not sure if this is correct forum, if not please redirect me.

Any help would be very gratefully received
