Was running my Spybot tonight and My Norton Anti-Virus popped a warning message that I had a Trojan Horse and that it is unable to repair the file.
The location is C:WINNT/Launchurl.exe.

I could not remove the file manually.

Here is the log....Had to reboot as i wanted to load the TDS 3 trojan detector. Have not run it. Because I had a copy of a clean hijack log from before I see a suspecious entry:

My LIVE Update is automatic but did it anyway and rebooted...Thats where i saw the HOST entry in previous message.

I re-ran the scan of the Winnt Directory and Norton this time, did not detect the Virus...Does it 'go away' after making that host entry?? Will rerun spybot and adaware as i await ur reply.

Update...Spybot and Ad-Aware ran clean. Since I knew that host entry was bad I deleted with Hijack this...Here is new log..

Please let me know if I need to do anything else....Whats odd is that today all I did was a Windows Update....Really wondering how i got that trojan!

Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox .
