Hi Experts

When trying to repair XP Home after a mobo replacement I have accidentally installed another copy of the OS inside the original one. Does anyone know how to get rid of the second installation without wiping the first one?

cheers Edi

Hi edirolua5!

Are you sure you installed a second copy of windows? What I'm thinking is that you are referring to the screen that appears when you boot up your computer where you have to choose which operating system you want to log onto and there are two listed, both with the heading Windows XP Home. When you choose the first one and windows boots up, when you go to My Documents are all your files still there? When you click START-->ALL PROGRAMS, are all your programs still listed there? When you open MY COMPUTER and double-click on Local (C:), is there just one folder called Windows or is there a Windows folder along with another called Windows2 or Winnt?
