My computer will not boot up and has the following message displayed, windows could not start because the folowing file is missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system.sav This is on my notebook, that comes with a download already installed, without a backup CD. I do have access to a home edition xp version CD, And have tried reinstalling, and repairing, to no advail. I do not know the administration password to continue these functions. I'm at a loss of what to try next, and wondered what caused this problem. Is it with my registry?? Mnay Thanks
