I'm looking for a CD-Rw and DVD-RW drive, no dual-side stuff, just simple home-user things.

but I'm having trouble choosing because every drive seems to do different speeds for different things.

What will take care of my most basic and common needs- no movie burning or anything, just short videos and sound and graphics.

Please keep ot to one topic your are being confusing enough as it is in one youre making me more confused with this one. Movie burning and short videos and graphics require the same kind of drive, they are all pretty much the same with different names the differences are slight, all the x or times are the multiples of the standard read rate of an audio cd in real time no buffering which is about 1600kbps.
