Hi. We recently installed a new hard drive in a machine, and put Windows 2000 Professional on it. It loaded just fine. However, when the computer was shut down and powered up later, the following error occurred during boot up: PXE-E61: Media Test Failure Check Cable -AND- PXE-MOF:Exiting PXE
The computer would not even load windows. It would get to that point and stop.

Any ideas on what caused this error, and how to fix it will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

This error is sometimes caused by the computer trying to boot from a network or network card.
Go into bios and set the boot order to 1st boot device floppy, 2nd cdrom 3rd hdd.

hope that helps
