Hello Techs:

I’m trying to upgrade my computer with 256mb of memory. I have a AMD Athlon 1000mz motherboard. It has three slots for memory I have installed 256mb in slot #1. I’m using Windows 98/SE. When I put the new 256mb chip in slot #2. The system comes back with the error msg:
While initializing device CONFIGMG
Windows protections error You need to restart your computer.
I went into the bios and there is a statement in the extend memory:
External cache 256, disabled
SDAM AT DIMM(S): 1,
To be it looks like something needs to me set for that slot to recognize the other chip. Is there a dip switch on the motherboard or how do I get the system to recognize the extra chip.
Thank You
Harry Welsh
