A couple days ago I let a couple friends use my desktop pc and upon my return there were some irritating problems (I will be supervising next time, to say the least).

The first was that my desktop background was replaced by a web page indicating I had Spyware/Trojan problems. It was in the WINDOWS/WEB/ directory as an html file. I was somehow able to get rid of that, though my desktop icons still have some kind of weird halo around them, as if the problem is still somewhere.

More alarmingly, my network connection icon in the system tray keeps lighting up every couple seconds, as if the computer is sending out messages. Sure enough, my IP is now listed in a spam database as being infected by a spamming trojan. My outgoing STMP server has been disabled as a result. As I have a lot of work to do on this computer, it's really imperative that I get this stuff figured out!!!

I have used Adaware, SpybotS&D, Panda scan, and scanned with NAV. NAV found a couple infections, including two particular files in my WINDOWS/system32 directory called "spoolsrv32.exe" and "srpcsrv32.dll" listed as "Download.Trojan". NAV couldn't delete them and I got Access Denied messages when trying manually. I did delete all references to spoolsrv32.exe in the registry and now those files are currently not there. But the cpu still seems like it's trying to send mail, and the whole thing is acting really slow. I would GREATLY appreciate any help on this!! Thank you so much!
