Have you got the latest patch installed and the latest hardware drivers?

I have never played zero hour so i was wondering if I have to get to a certain level in Generals in order for it to work.

Next thing to try would be to uninstall both games (make sure all folders and files have been deleted).
Run diskcleanup and remove all the temporary files from your computer.
Install Generals, patch it, restart your PC, install Zero Hour and patch if there's one available.

What did you get? I am a major C&C geek and I have never heard of such a thing, even the Deluxe Package that has both games on seperate disks. Make sure you are installing Generals first from the disk then Zero Hour, or does it not give you a choice?
PS: Where did you get this?!
