whenever i try to restart or shutdown it shows explorer.exe not responding what do i do then when i press end now then it does it once it restarts it shows restore my active desktop so what do i do someone

If you can get it to run at all, or with safe mode with networking

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter to replace the system files, you need the XP CD.

System File Check will show an on screen blue progress bar, reboot when the bar goes
