well.. i hav forums on my forum where people can make topics / polls / replies in. but what is the professional way of saying that there are forums inside my forum website? i am not talking about a sub-forum. i know you would not just called it a forum inside a forum. or forum website in a forum. is it a forum directory that in which the website is the forum? or..?

Subforum?

its really not that hard to understand.

i am only wondering what it is professionally called when a forum is inside (which is a forum directory on a forum website where you can post Topics / Replies / Polls - Ex. GeeksToGo Internet and Browsers Forum) a forum website (which is the forum you created for discussion on a discussion board - Ex. GeeksToGo). i know you would not just call it a forum inside a forum. what is it professionally called?

Maybe I'm just not getting it, but I still think it's subforum. For example,

Internet is a subforum of GeeksToGo
Web design & web hosting is a subforum of Internet

I am an administrator here and at a few other IPB forums, as well as own my own forum-run website. I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Maybe its just that you need to do a better job of explaining what it is that you are looking for.

you breakdown is as follows with examples. I have used ths section of the Geekstogo website for all examples so you can better understand the sections.

Forum Boards = Geekstogo.com
Forum Categories = Internet
Forums = web design & web hosting
Subforums=Critique/show off my site

Hope this helps you understand it better. From what I am seeing you were trying to figure out the categories section of the forum software.
