I got an AMD Athlon 3800+ 64 x2, and it usually runs at about 0.999 ghz- sometimes at 2.0. This prevents me from running games I was able to on my old pc (3200). I've been reading up on it, and most of my problems are software related. Now, if a particular game isn't programmed to recognize dual cores, what do I do? Is there a way I can "make" it be recognized?

I've been eyeing Windows XP 64- is this a potential soultion?

I dont know the solution but if you switch to XP 64 you will have to find 64 bit drivers for all your hardware. So make sure you have all those b4 u switch.
