Attached File  MS_AntiSpyWare_Log.doc   129.5KB   20 downloadsRequest for Assistance.

I have provided information on the situation/problems as well as what actions I have taken including running HiJackThis (log is at the end of this request).

I have Norton AV current and running but it did not stop the attack nor is it able to eradicate the problems. I have not made any changes to the MS registry since I am not that familiar on exactly what to do, very cautious, and do not want to cause myself a more significant problem.

Thanks in advance for your assistance …since right now my need to conduct business is being pretty hampered by this.

Situation & Problems:
• 127051.exe (Trojan)
• HaxDoor-H
• Dload.exe
• Trojan.startpage

Actions Taken
1. Ran Norton AV and like other that have this problem, NAV recognizes the problems but fails to fully fix or remove them and their root cause
2. Turned off MS Restore and NAV GoBack
3. Rebooted in Safe Mode and then did the following:
a. Ran CCleaner V1.17.090
b.Ran Ad-Aware SE with add-on VX2 Cleaner installed.
Results: 15 Objects found and deleted. See below for log prior to deletions

Welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz:

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

HijackThis is current; running from a zipped location Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O4 - Startup: winupdate09658749[1].exe
O21 - SSODL: MSMserv - {963BD615-879E-481D-A77E-20DDB063D301} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\syncimap.dll
O23 - Service: Lexar JD31 - Unknown - LxrJD31s.exe

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files/folders (if found):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\tmpf00.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\winupdate09658749[1].exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\syncimap.dll

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. ;)

Thank you very much for your response. Since this is my only computer to do business on and now we are into the sixth day it is very frustrating. I barely have enough time to send this reply before some redirect appears and wipes me out!

Followed your instructions and the results are mixed.

Results:
1. Applied all the fixes via HijackThis as suggested except
a. O21 – SSODL:MSMserv – {963BD615-879E-481D=A77E-20DDB063D031] – C:\WINDOWS\System32\syncimap.dll.
b. Reason – was not listed in the scan when I went to do the fixes.
2. All of the problems still reappear in NORMAL mode.
a. Horseserver
b. HaxDoor-H
c. Trojan.Startpage
Also, MS Anti Spyware is intercepting the attempts from my computer to install the Trojan Startpage. Each time I indicate to stop the install I get messages indicating a batch file named C:\WINDOWS\System32\a.bat is attempting to run. Likewise, a message appears stating that file C:\WINDOWS\System32\snim.dll is being deleted after I indicate that I do not want to install the Trojan Startpage
d. Downloader.Trojan
3. Below are three HijackThis logs for your review
a. First log (2/11/05 @ 15:46) was done immediately after the fixes were applied; reboot in NORMAL mode; OFFLINE, and before the attacks started up again.
