First of all what's on my computer now:
OS: Windows XP home ed. SP 2.

I need to format my computer or hard drive might be more correct, first of all I need to find out something about MS Office, now my office can only be installed in 3 computers. I've allready done this so I'll need to know how I should uninstall MS Office to make sure that I can reinstall it on this computer after the formating.
Then I know I'll have to go into MS dos, and write some commands there. Is it just "format c:\\" or something? anyway if you know what commands please tell me.

So when I've followed you're instuctions untill now, I guess my hard drive is formated. So now I'm going to install Linux, so I want be needing a startup floppydisk from windows, right? Then what will I need, I got the
.ISO file for the linux (nubiu or something).

Now I work in translating manuals (You guessed right, with this english I'm not translating to english :tazz:), so I'll need to use MS office since all my clients do. Then I probably need some programs to use a this, since it's made for windows. This is also a problem at several games such as wow etc.

Guess that's it, sorry if this post were written in a wrong area but I couldn't find a better place for it.
And thanks for helping out! :)

1. How to reformat your computer.

Google is your friend: http://www.resnet.un...reformatxp.html

2. How to install linux
an ISO file is a cd image. You need a image burning program such as Nero or Alcohol 120% to burn the image onto a cd.
Check out http://www.linux.org/ for more info.

3. What about Microsoft Office
Open Office is an linux alternative and supports all MS office formats.

do you wish to set up a linux only computer?

I ask because every linux distro install will format the drive before installing anyway. so if that is the only os you wish to have, you don't necessarily need to reformat the drive before installing linux. however, it is good practise to do so.

I recommend the freeware program cdburnerxp pro for burning images. http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

mainly because its free, and easy to use. tutorial here:
