I have a Compaq laptop with Windows XP-Pro. I use it both at home on a wireless network, and at my office which has both wired and wireless network connections (Windows peer-to-peer non-domain networking environment.)

A week or so ago, I had an encounter with some spyware/malware. I installed Microsoft Antispyware, PC-Cillin, and used some fixes I found online and finally got rid of it.

One of the remaining issues: Thru yesterday, I could still get on the Internet both at home and at work, but could not see or connect to the workgroup or to other PCs. As of today, I have now lost my ability to even get online.

I had an IT guy come by and look at it. He checked my networking settings, etc. and could find no explanation for my loss of connectivity.

I ran WINSOCK, which did not help.

Any assistance is appreciated!
